Field Descriptions (in Files and Search)
This page describes some of the fields in WorldTracer files and Search screens, listed in alphabetical order. It's important to enter the fields used for tracing to get the best results for matches.

Baggage Identifier |
A unique baggage identification code, used to provide notification to the companies via the Unique ID Service from WorldTracer, and is specific to companies that have provided the passengers with a tag or labeling for their baggage. See also Baggage Identifier. |

Brand |
The manufacturer of the bag. Part of Bag Details. Tip: In a multi-bag file, enter bags that have a brand as the first bags in the file. Otherwise, WorldTracer associates the brands to the first bags when you save the file. |

Category |
Related to the contents of a bag. Use the categories in the drop-down list. Each category has a number next to it, 1, 2, or 3. A category with a higher value provides more matching points, so use the higher value categories where possible. See also Bag Contents Categories. Part of Bag Details. |

Checked Bag |
The conditions of the bags at check in, such as the total weight of the bags, the number of excess bags, the serial number of the passenger's excess baggage ticket, the descriptive gender of the contents, and if keys were collected by an agent. Include the total weight of the bags at check in. |

Claim Currency / Claim Amount |
The passenger's valuation of their damaged or missing bag or items. |

Class of Service/Status |
The class of travel, or airline passenger tier in the frequent flyer program. Depending on your company's configuration, WorldTracer may trigger an automated email or SMS to premium passengers, provided that you enter this field exactly as defined by your company. |

Combination Lock |
The combination code for a passenger's bag. |

In the More tab of a Delayed, Damaged, or On-Hand Bag File under Defined Prompt. It is only available when you update a file, not when you create it. It allows you to enter a short message related to the file, that you can send at a specific time in the future, to an Inbox or teletype address. For example, you may wish to send a message to your Station Inbox for an agent to contact a passenger tomorrow morning. You can also delay a message when sending from an Inbox. Select using the drop-down list where the bag is to be delivered, or collected. When required add additional delivery instructions for the delivery company. |

Exact Family Name |
Limits the search results to only the results that exactly match the leading characters of the Family Name entered. For example, a search for YOUN would return YOUN, YOUNG, and YOUNGBLOOD, but not BRYOUN. When set to No the search returns all files with a match in the family name. For example, a search for YOUN would return YOUN, YOUNG, and YOUNGBLOOD, and BRYOUN. |

Excess Currency / Excess Amount |
The additional value the passenger claims for the baggage and contents, when the value of the baggage and contents exceeds the airline limits of liability. |

Excess Bag Number |
The tag number printed on the passenger copy of the excess baggage ticket receipt, where the passenger has paid for an excess baggage allowance. |

Expedite Destination |
The final destination station of a forwarded bag. |

Identify Baggage |
Scan or enter a bag tag number or a PNR number. Where possible, WorldTracer identifies the bag or passenger from external systems, and allows you to transfer their details to the file you are creating. Note: When WorldTracer is integrated with SITA Bag Journey, you can enter a bag tag range of up to 10 consecutive bag tags. Example: XS123456-65 When WorldTracer is integrated with SITA DCS, you can enter only one tag number. WorldTracer retrieves all bag tags associated with the same passenger. |

License Plate |
A unique 10-digit identifier for a bag, printed on and encoded in the bar code on bag tags to uniquely identify a bag. The License Plate Number (LPN) may also be present in the RFID chip in the bag tag, if so equipped. The LPN is made up of three components:
The license plate is retained in a WorldTracer file if the bag tag number was entered in the license plate format. It is also converted by WorldTracer to an 8-digit alpha-numeric bag tag number.

Matching File |
Details of files that have been matched with the Delayed Bag File and transferred to the file during the baggage repatriation workflow. |

Match Window |
Used to override the default window (number of days) set in the Matching screen of the Master Record.
The number of days from the creation of a Delayed Bag File that WorldTracer searches for matches with a new On-Hand Bag File. |

Message Area |
Usually messages entered into a file automatically as a result of processing the file from the Station Inbox. You can also manually insert or update this information. |

Missing Bags | The number of delayed bags for the passenger. | |
Missing Station / Missing Airline |
The file reference station and airline codes. Use in the Search to list files created at another station and by another airline. Specify the Missing Station/Missing Airline in addition to Requesting Airline when the Missing Airline is not handled at the Requesting Station, or does not have a codeshare agreement with the logged in airline. |

Partner Code |
The partner airline involved in the delay. The Coordinator can generate a report for files with a partner code as an additional filter. Examples: Fault Station Log, Fault Station Performance by File. Part of Fault Information. |

Passenger Reservation Details |
Details of the passenger's flight booking from the airline reservation system. These details can be automatically transferred to a file when WorldTracer is connected to a departure control system (DCS). |

Permanent Contact Information |
The address where the passenger normally lives, when they are not traveling. The email and cell phone are used to send automated messages to a passenger, when this option is active for your company. Agents require contact details to keep the passenger informed about the status of their mishandled bag, and for the address to deliver a bag. See also Temporary Contact Information. |

A code assigned to a bag file in WorldTracer, to indicate why the bag was mishandled. Part of Fault Information. |

Related File |
The file reference of up to five associated WorldTracer files. It is normally entered automatically following a transaction that closes one file and opens another, but you can also enter it manually. |

Remarks |
Additional information about a bag, sometimes restricted to the Headquarters office. Can be useful if you have run out of space in the Bag Details field. |

Replacement Bag Replacement Items |
The type, size, condition, and number of replacement bags provided to a passenger who has reported a delayed bag or damaged bag. Use the drop-down lists to specify the items provided to the passenger. For a damaged bag, part of Liability Information. |

Requesting Station / Requesting Airline |
In the Search, your station code, and optional airline code if you want to filter by airline. |
|
Rush Routing |
In a Forward Bag file, the flight number, date, and destination of a rush bag's new flight or flights to travel from your station to be reunited with its passenger. |

Rush Tag Number |
The new tag number to be used on the flight forwarding the bag. Part of Bag Details. Tip: In a Forward Bag File, always enter both the rush tag and original tag numbers if you have them. In a multi-bag file, enter bags that have both tag numbers as the first bags in the file. Otherwise, WorldTracer associates the original tag numbers to the first bags when you save the file. |

Search Address |
For customers who subscribe to the smart search feature. Enter the start of an address or a place to search for and prefill a passenger address. |

Send Results to Destination Address |
Used in the Advanced Search to send the search results to an email, Station Inbox, or teletype address. The search results are not displayed on the screen. |

Settlement Cost |
The type of payment and amount offered to the passenger as compensation for the mishandled bag. Select the type and currency using the drop-down lists. |
|
Station in Routing |
Used in the Advanced Search to restrict the search to files that contain a specific station in the route. Enter the station code for any station you want to include in the search. |
|
Storage Location |
The place where a damaged or on-hand bag is being stored until it can be delivered to or collected by the passenger. |
|
Supplementary Information |
Additional information to assist the Baggage Service or Headquarters Office in processing a file. Check your company's policies for specific uses of this field. |

Tag Number |
The number on the original bag tag, which identifies the baggage for a passenger. Part of Bag Details. See also License Plate. |

Temporary Contact Information |
The address where the passenger is currently residing on a temporary basis, such as a hotel or holiday apartment. You must specify the date when the passenger is due to depart. A located mishandled bag can be delivered to a temporary address, provided that the passenger is still there. See also Permanent Contact Information. |

Ticket Number |
Part of Passenger Reservation Details. Can be retrieved automatically when WorldTracer is connected to the DCS, or entered manually from the passenger's ticket receipt or boarding pass. Not used for tracing. |

Total Delivery Weight of Bags |
Where multiple bags were checked in, indicate the weight of the bags that were retrieved by or delivered to the passenger. Example: two checked-in bags of 10kg and 15kg. Bag 1 (10kg) is lost, but the passenger received the bag of 15kg, enter 15kg in this field. |
|
Total Loss / Bag Loss |
Indicates whether a bag has been lost. Set to Yes and enter the number of lost bags. Include Total Loss is an option in some reports. |
|
Total Weight of Bags |
The weight of ALL bags checked in by the passenger – not just the bag that is delayed or damaged. This information is important when the airline compensates a passenger for lost or damaged bags based on weight. YY in this field indicates that the total weight of all bags is unknown. When WorldTracer is connected to SITA Bag Journey and the agent has used the Lookup feature when creating the file, this field is automatically populated, when the data is available. |

Total Weight of Missing Bags |
The weight of bags that are delayed. For example, a passenger checks in three bags with a total weight of 60 Kg. Two bags are delayed, with a weight of 40 Kg. |
